Working Together

Transition Town Bridport wants to create links with any local group or organisation which is working towards our shared goals of reduced dependency on fossil fuels, resilience in the face of peak oil and the promotion of sustainability and local self-reliance. Creating links with each other and working together is all-important.

Bridport Co-housing -
A way of living that's more green, less costly and
neighbourly - in Bridport.

Bridport Community OrchardThe orchard is freely available for everyone to enjoy informally, and also for public events organised either by the orchard group, or other local groups, on application to BCOG. BCOG is made up entirely of volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome (there's no membership fee). Borough Gardens. Friends of the Borough Gardens meet every Wednesday 10-12 in the summer and every other week in winter. A friendly sociable group which garden together to maintian this lovely tranquil space near the centre of Bridport. For further information please contact Maggie Ray.

  Bridport Local Food Group - promotes regional farmers, food producers and retailers. It organises and runs the annual Bridport Food Festival as well as educational projects around the town.

Car Share Dorset- car sharing is when two or more people share a car and travel together. It allows people to benefit from the convenience of the car, whilst alleviating the associated problems of congestion and pollution.

Dorset Community Action is a charity committed to helping communities and voluntary groups to achieve their goals by providing
support, inspiration and resources throughout Dorset.

A brilliant portal for information on renewable energy in Dorset.

HOME in Bridport Project
These are our partners in the St Mary's school allottment, polytunnel and food project, and cookery classes.
The intention of the HOME in BRIDPORT PROJECT is to help create local employment while celebrating local life in a beautiful rural land and seascape. Its beginning point is always within building trust and friendship through cultural work.

Food Future Bridport
is for anyone and everyone who celebrates and wants to support local and sustainable food. Let’s use our buying power to eat our way to good health, protecting the environment and the local economy as we go.

Monkton Wyld Court
Monkton Wyld Court has hosted events for adults, children and families for 70 years. As well as workshops and family weeks, they teach skills for sustainable living: beekeeping, permaculture, eco-building, green technologies, sustainable land use and environmental crafts.

Stir to Action : Co-Ops, Community, Action. Stir to Action produce a monthly magazine, run courses during the year, and have many projects over a wide range of issues. Based in St Michael's estate, Bridport

SW Dorset LETS - our Local Exchange and Trading System putting you in touch with
local people, local resources, all kinds of skills and the opportunity to use the local currency - Nets. This group covers Bridport, West Bay and all surrounding villages - including several members from Lyme Regis.

Trill Farm

Trill Farm is set in 300 acres of beautiful rolling hills and woodland on the Devon/Dorset border, close to Lyme Regis and Axminster, providing the opportunity to learn sustainable living skills for the future.
